Least popular. Most Popular. Heroic and Mythic are two such modes, and if you are looking for a comparison, here are a few things you need to consider. Heroic is the mode that is also abbreviated as HC at the forums and is basically all about the dungeon difficulty settings.

Now, we all love those dungeon raids in the WoW and want to get more and more of it. That is why Heroic mode is there to make the whole thing more interesting for you. There are different settings and requirements for this mode, depending on the expansion, dungeon type, and the number of raid parties you are playing with. The best thing about playing with the Heroic mode difficulty level is that you have more HP, you can hit harder and cause more damage to the opponents, and have more potent skills as well.

You will also be getting better quality equipment when you drop those bosses in the heroic mode. Yet, the difficulty level is considerably increased as well and you can only activate the heroic mode once per day for each character. There are timers on the dungeons as well, and that allows you to have some break between your heroic experiences again with the heroic difficulty mode in the game.

Mythic is another dungeon system with different features and that allows you to have a whole new experience while you go raiding those dungeons with your raiding party. The 5-player raiding mode has an endlessly scaling challenge to offer that makes it way more challenging for you. Not only that, but there are also timers for each of the dungeons so that you can feel it more challenging and put some more effort into the game.

Moving forward, competing for mythic dungeon rewards you with an epic gear having a higher base level than any other source out there. Ever since mid-Legion, I find that Normal and Heroic raid difficulties are too similar.

And the numerical difficulty is negated by better gearing as it seems to me that the damage of the mechanics scales one to one with the better gear you are supposed to have for the higher difficulty Heroic. Typically pugs are able to clear normal without a hitch, maybe a couple of wipes etc, but on heroic it is more often than not the case that a pug group will not be able to fully clear the instance. Some slight mechanical changes do also exist. But heroic is definitely very noticeable harder than normal, even with better gear and this feeling has been consistent for me for expansions now.

For mythic raiders, the difficulty of normal and heroic probably feels subjectively quite similar. Dungeons Dungeons operate under an instance-based lockout. Normal dungeons can be reset at any time when the party is outside of the instance, and will reset automatically after a certain amount of time has passed. Heroic dungeons reset daily.

This lockout does not affect you when queuing for random Heroic dungeons in the Group Finder. It only prevents you from queueing for specific dungeons you've already completed. Mythic dungeons reset weekly, but this does not affect Mythic Keystone dungeons.

All bosses can drop either their player or player loot. World Bosses Burning Crusade has 2 bosses, with individual lockouts. Starting with Warlords of Draenor, worldbosses began to rotate weekly. Information on these bosses can be found in the Adventure Journal in-game. Warlords of Draenor has 4 bosses. Legion has 15, split between the Broken Isles and the Broken Shore. Battle for Azeroth has 6, with 2 additional bosses in Nazjatar.
