When is rei dividend 2018

I might not even buy camping gear this year; I might buy some ski bindings. Funny store, but speaks about the quality of REI's customer service: last year I also didn't even buy camping gear with my dividend It was no-questions-asked, the clerk just looked up my purchase against my member number and gave me the store credit.

Now that's treating the customer right. Re: What are you spending your REI dividend on? I don't spend mine straight away, the best sales are at season change so I go a 3 season ultralight tent in December for free.

I can call it free because I don't interest. The life time satisfaction guarantee has changed a bit. You now have to have a legitimate reason to return something like crappy poles and you only have one year. My local store has told me, for example, that too many people have returned blown out boots with obviously hundreds of miles on them, just to get free new ones. My store had a particular problem with one boy scout troop that would buy new gear in the spring and return it in the winter for refund.

Any excess gets converted to darn tough socks. I'm not mature enough to sit on unspent REI dividends. I'm happy with all my current gear. You can wait and just cash the dividend out they will send you a check in July. We usually do that unless we need something from REI. That said I am traveling near one today, maybe I will stop in. Save your dividend purchases until that comes out. As for what to do with my dividend this year I am on the fence about the Garmin Inreach.

Great work! Now if you can add a chart on Backcountry. That's a great idea! I'll see what I can do; thanks! If you already have any info on backcountry sales or promotions, feel free to get in touch with me via the contact form on the right side of this blog! Lots of deals on snow gear including Arcteryx and Patagonia.

In case you need multiple expensive things! I noticed this too! Looks like they're trying to compete which is good for those looking to buy! Thanks for the info!

Used this coupon for a winter helmet for biking and am going to wait for a new road bike helmet 'till spring and see what is around then since it won't be getting any use for the next few months.

Thanks for all the great info! I'm looking at a bike, but would have to have it shipped to a store I live in Little Rock. Too bad! Thank you! Anyone know if REI honors sale prices early in store? Friends and Family is the best. Oddly it can be difficult to give them away as an employee and the employee might appreciate your offer. If the first employee refuses then try another.

Have these already gone out? I have not received anything. Looking to buy two new bikes. Hi Laura, the friends and family discount comes in one-time-use codes that you get directly from an employee. Time to get friendly and buy a 6-pack or something! Mike, I'm not currently a member - do you know if I would have to be signed up to receive the upcoming member coupon, or could I sign up once it goes out and still receive it?

I've never done one of these sales before and am wondering how it works. I'm really only looking for one item and don't want to sign up for a membership until I know for sure a coupon is going out It's just a generic coupon code and you can sign up to be a member during the sale, so you can just monitor this site for the sale dates and make a decision then.

Pretty sure I know the answer but just want to confirm - the dates you have listed, they are the beginning of the sale? Those are the historical start dates of the sales. Most of the big ones last just over a week, covering a weekend at the start and finish. This is awesome! Thanks for collecting, compiling, and sharing your data!

Yeah odd it's not in the mailer but the rumor I heard is that it will come separately for the end of March! Hello Mike, This is valuable! Thanks for sharing the historical dates. Any chance you logged similar historical information for Patagonia. Thanks for posting this! I need some camping pads and they apparently always sell at retail so I wanted to know wait for the next REI coupon to arrive.

Now I know to wait until mid-November. Not certain if that's still going on, but you can watch here for other special deals! Very helpful and well organized blog.

I like your style. It is a great resource for myself and I send this link out to dozens of others. Thanks for the great information. And I have been an REI member since Thanks for stopping by! Yup this changed in -- don't worry the coupon should come very soon! Thanks for the great post. I'll make a special note of the terms and conditions for this year. Hi Mike, can you track the REI co-op double dividend match events in your tracker? E: snowboards, bikes, GPS equipment, etc.

Definitely a good tip for getting those items at a discount! This is one of those kinda-random sales that hasn't had a pattern so far. I'll watch for it though. Unfortunately looks like no -- the key restrictions from the Anniversary Sale were this: "Discounts not valid on bicycles, bike simulators, strollers, paddle boards, hard-shell boats, any item with GPS technology, action cameras and accessories, activity trackers, personal locator beacons, avalanche transceiver and airbag products, skis, ski boots or ski bindings; snowboards, snowboard boots or snowboard bindings.

Mike - Thanks so much for the detailed list of exclusions for the Anniversary Sale. Hi Barry, glad you find it helpful! The early catalogues were full of information about equipment.

I miss reading them. In the s I was in Seattle going to forestry school. We used to sleep on the sidewalk in front of the old main store for the big annual sale. The company de-evolved in the last 20 years. Their boats are crappy, their climbing equipment is basic. They have succumbed to slick advertising and sportswear like most of the other companies.

This probably won't make sense to you if did not know the company a long time ago. Still a good outfit. I was in a store recently to buy a warmer sleeping pad. I learned to backpack from my Dad who is He learned from his Dad. Equipment used to be very basic. He was in amazement and could not figure out why there so many kinds of packs and tents and why they cost so much.
